Ashtanga

Our ashtanga classes are a 75 minute practice involving a fixed sequence of physical movements. We begin with 10 rounds of surya namaskar (sun salutations) and follow with a series of standing, balancing and seated poses which are held for 5 yogic breaths. We end with seated meditation and savasana. Ẁe use blocks and straps for proper alignment.

Developing a consistent ashtanga practice is beneficial for the body (it is a strong practice developing strength and flexibility) and your mind (as you become familiar with the sequence of movements, you may be able to achieve meditation through movement).

 

Minimum group size 3 persons. $25 per class or $125 for 6 classes.

Hatha

Hatha is a slower and less intense style of yoga compared to ashtanga and vinyasa. Each class begins with seated meditation and breath work to help you feel grounded and ready for practice. Each class is written to focus on a specific area of your body (hips, spine, hamstrings, shoulders) and is targeted to build your strength and flexibility in these areas whilst being mindful of different levels of practitioners.

Minimum group size 3 persons. $25 per class or $125 for 6 classes.

  Meditation

        &

  Movement

Our movement and meditation classes are set at a relaxed, gentle pace. The focus is on intentional movement and breathing leading up to creating a quiet space for contemplation and meditation.  A combination of body work (asana), breath work (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana), the practice can be challenging in ways you did not expect.

Vinyasa

Our vinyasa classes are lively and energetic with faster movement throughout the class compared to our ashtanga and hatha classes. The best way to think of vinyasa is "one breath one movement". Sometimes classes will include arm balances or more challenging poses depending on the experience of people attending the class.

All levels are welcome to join our vinyasa classes but if you're new to yoga it might be worth trying a hatha class before joining vinyasa. 

​
